Congratulations on your upcoming marriage! The Islamic Center of Hawaii provides complete Nikah (Islamic wedding) services for Muslims on Big Island. We perform both the religious ceremony and legal marriage registration recognized by the State of Hawaii.

Our qualified marriage officiant, Dr. Shawon Rahman, will guide you through the entire process, ensuring your union is blessed according to Islamic tradition.

Requirements & Information

What You Need

  • Two adult Muslim witnesses
  • Valid government-issued IDs
  • Both parties present in-person
  • Marriage contract document
  • Legal/religious documents

Process Steps

  1. Marriage Registration Complete at Hawaii EMRS portal; $60 application fee; select "Shawon Rahman" as performer; pay $250 ICH service charge (cash preferred).
  2. Appointment with Performer After license number received, email admin@ichawaii-tech.site and/or call +1-808-932-7524.
  3. Appear in Person Both parties with at least two adult witnesses; official IDs required.
  4. Bring Witnesses Fill and sign marriage contract before three witnesses and performer.
  5. Ceremony Conduct Performer conducts marriage and submits documents to State of Hawaii Department of Health.
  6. Obtain Marriage License Download license 48–72 hours after ceremony from Hawaii EMRS portal.
